I wish I could say that I always enjoyed reading, and in a way, I did but the required readings in school were painful and failed to grab my attention. However, I enjoyed reading about military history, specifically WW2 and Vietnam. When I joined the Army and had time to myself, I found a love for fantasy fiction. Really, when I could choose what I wanted to read, I found enjoyment in just about everything, except romance novels. From there, I began writing my own stories, mostly short stories and my dream of being an author blossomed.
I am heavily influenced by the authors that inspired me and my imagination. Wheel of Time author Robert Jordan's ability to manage a large number of characters captivated me. R.A. Salvatore's multi-decade long storyline of Drizzt Dourden and the Forgotten Realms fascinated me. The humor during a zombie apocalypse by Mark Tufo spoke to my dry, often dark humorous side.
So with all that said, my style brings humor and realism into the storyline with multiple characters and all the complexities of real life.
